A reserved and quiet office worker turns his life upside down when his girlfriend dumps him because he's not adventurous enough leading him on a journey of self discovery as he learns what it means to be exciting.
There is nothing in this poster that would render it a complete success, though it does work on a number of levels. Using the signage displayed a few times in the trailer is sufficient on its own, but when put side-by-side with an image of the lead character standing in the featured auto looking through binoculars for something, you've got a poster that screams "take me seriously" when it probably shouldn't.
While I like that this second poster is more detailed, it is not that much more interesting. By adding more detail they've managed to make it less interesting, not more. The split screen is distracting and the background is too bright plus the Pretty Woman-inspired pose of the leads doesn't come off well.
We've seen this story done in many different ways over the years and this seems a bit stale in certain respects, but the lead in the film at least feels like an interesting character, which may go a long way towards making this film palatable.
It's very doubtful this can become an Oscar success. I'm not even sure it would be on the Independent Spirit Awards' accessibility list.
I have not seen this film.
