Gerard Butler is a sexist pig whose men's-help program leads to a stint on a major network program where his new show's producer, Katherine Heigl, attempts to get him to clean up his act while her love life is crashing around her.
The old adage that a woman thinks with her brain and a man thinks with his sex drive is brought to a poster. It is simple and effectively demonstrates the theme of the film, but may be an oversimplification of the film's concepts.
It could be charming, but Katherine Heigl looks to deliver yet another of the same performances and Gerard Butler seems to have falling into the charming rogue personality all too readily these days without the benefit of really becoming a sex symbol in terms of general exposure.
Although the second trailer doesn't seem to embellish or improve upon the concept presented in the first trailer, it's clear that the film will sell itself entirely on Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler's emotional connection.
Comedy, especially comedy this romantic/typical in nature, isn't generally within the Academy's taste range.
I have not seen this film.
