A mean-spirited old codger decide to leave the earth behind and devises a way to take his house with him under the propolusion of thousands of helium balloons. He expect peace and quite but discovers a young Boy Scout stuck on his porch at the time his house lifted off.
Large block-letter title. Check. House sailing into the sky under helium balloon propulsion. Check. A sense of wonder or encouragement of the audience. None.
While I doubt the film's plot will be that similar to that of Edgar Allan Poe's story The Unparalleled Adventure of One Hans Pfaall, there are some little similarities. Hopefully the film is not only better than the trailer, but also Poe's rambling tale.
There really isn't anything new to the Super Bowl spot except a suggestion by Disney to visit its website for more information and a sneak peak at the film.
After two rather unexceptional trailers, we finally get to see what kinds of adventures this film will provide. An interesting blend of images and characters makes this look like a promising film and the final scene of the trailer is outwardly funny, which gives me hope finally that this will be another Pixar gem.
It would be a shock if this were the first Pixar film in the history of the Animated Film category not to receive a nomination.
A tremendous tale of unfulfilled dreams and fulfilling promises. Pixar continues a winning streak of brilliant films.
