Preview: X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

Synopsis:

The X-Men franchise takes a new direction, focusing on the origin of one of its most popular characters, Wolverine. Hugh Jackman returns to the project along with several other actors who take on roles mostly not seen previously, including Gambit, Sabretooth (re-cast), Deadpool, Silver Fox and The Blob.

Review:

This seems more like a teaser, than an actual poster. It gives the date and it tells you who the film's about, but it doesn't give any other information and certianly isn't much in the way of stylish.

Review:

Prefacing that I am a fan of the X-Men, this trailer, apart from its relatively irritating fast cutting through the "minor" characters in the film, is an exciting one. Although I'm sre there will be other must-sees of the new year, this is the first originally-planted must-see of 2009.

Another astoundingly interesting trailer. The more I see, the more I want to see. And what's great about the trailer is that it doesn't give away so much of the plot that you feel you've already seen the movie. Instead, it just capitalizes on recognizable faces and/or characters and presents some explosively good action snippets, and not even so much that those are ruined either.

Oscar Prospects:

While I doubt it will compete, there are many possibilities with a film like this and more if it turns out to be a box office smash. I could see Makeup, Sound Mixing, Sound Editing and Visual Effects nominations.

Full Review Synopsis:

An entertaining opening cannot sustain a murkily-plotted film that relies more on convention and contrivance than character development.
