Preview: Breaking Upwards (2010)

Synopsis:

Deciding not to be in an exclusive relationship, a couple discovers how difficult it is to live with one another when a more perfect relationship awaits them apart.

Review:

I like the blending of the hair into the upper reaches of the poster, but it's a rather rudimentary effort that exemplifies the hand-drawn style of many indie movie posters and is similarly unsuccessful.

• Trailer: C

Review:

It's hard to warm up to the story when it seems so desperate and uncaring. It reminds me of any number of independent films being made these days and striking no real connection between the story and the audience. Hopefully the film does a better job.
