Preview: Daybreakers (2010)

Synopsis:

The world is overrun with vampires, the dwindling supply of blood sends one man out to try and harness a new source only to befriend a group of humans who believe they may have a cure.

Review:

Garish and ultimately unrewarding, this poster's lack of a grand design element, or many elements at all, makes it about as useful as the toilet paper in the restrooms of the theater.

Significantly more interesting and impressive than the first poster. This one, though, doesn't carry much meaning without having seen the trailer, but it's still a solid effort nonetheless.

Review:

The idea is entirely intriguing and the execution of the trailer is encouraging. With Ethan Hawke at the forefront, you've at least got someone that can bring some credibility to the project. However, it's releasing in January, which generally means bad things in terms of quality.

Oscar Prospects:

A release in January virtually assures the film of being forgotten by the 83rd Oscars, especially since the 82nd Oscar nominations won't even have been announced yet.
