Preview: Faster (2010)

Synopsis:

An ex-con seeks revenge against the man that betrayed him and his brother resulting in his brother's death, but is pursued by both a cop and a hit man.

Review:

If it weren't for how dark and foreboding the poster looked, this would be an abject failure. A faux tattoo of the film title isn't in the least bit original.

The color scheme and design format are the same, but now they have increased the size of the male figure in the poster and revealed to the audience it's Dwayne Johnson in hopes he will sell the movie better. It's a smart move, but it does not make a smarter poster.

Review:

The sermon that covers the length of this trailer is a bit problematic, while it doesn't overwhelm the action, it's a minor distraction. Of course the action is a distraction in itself.

A revenge flick with a lead that seems to have no moral compass. If you can't identify with a victim, you can't identify with a film and although they have tried to lay the framework for understanding why this man is killing these people, you don't exactly care.
