An ensemble drama adapted from Ntozake Shange's Obie Award-winning play, a poetic exploration of what is to be of color and a female in this world.
I like how each individual design is unique and different, with similar styles and formats harmonizing the series. They are a bit too busy at times, but that does not prevent a struck balance.
It's a very colorful poster despite the white background and it plays into a lot of Tyler Perry's other film posters, but I don't know that it's going to be as effective as the ones already out featuring each of the characters.
For those familiar with the stage play, this poster will be a better visual representation of that experience than the individual character posters.
The trailer's a bit dense for a pop culture attraction, but with some of the finest black actresses working today, it might actually be a decent film. It will play well to Tyler Perry's core audience.
Could this be Tyler Perry's first big foray into the Oscar world? A lot depends on how mainstream critics support or criticize the film.
I have not seen this film.
