Preview: The Freebie (2010)

Synopsis:

Trying to cope with his life as a married man, Darren hopes to convince his wife Annie to permit him to have an extra-marital affair to certify his love for her.

Review:

The holding hands with a potential extra-marital suitor concept isn't terribly original, though it's the most inventive thing about this poster which doesn't really exhibit any comparative thematic styles with the trailer, seeming to feel out of place entirely with its fellow publicity entity.

• Trailer: C+

Review:

It reminds me strongly of Humpday, which wasn't a bad movie, but definitely appealed to the intellectual crowd moreso than general modern audiences. Which is fine and this trailer gives exactly that impression, but shouldn't you want some cross-over appeal?
