A documentary exploring the creative and emotional attachments ten famous, independent filmmakers bring to their work.
The eye in the lens of the camera is a forced attempt to suggest the eye of the director. Additionally, the background color is distracting.
When you have names like Agnes Varda, Todd Haynes, Stephen Frears, Bernardo Bertolucci, Catherine Breillat, Lilian Cavani, Richard Linklater, Ken Loach, David Lynch and John Sayles giving us their thoughts and opinions about the art of filmmaking, it is impossible for a serious cinephile not to take notice.
Those names, a couple of which are Oscar nominees, could be the perfect film to tickle the Academy's fancies.
I have not seen this film.
