Sequel to the hit comic blockbuster, Iron Man 2 features Tony Stark in his legendary suit facing off against a villain with similar technical expertise and requiring his buddy don another suit of his creation.
This could be Bosom Buddies for the tech-hungry crowd. It's a dull poster that suggests these two are more than just buddies. (Please note that this review is based on a trailer that is no longer available. A new review for the current poster displayed at right will be available later)
The first poster I reviewed is nowhere to be found. It was replaced with the poster you now see on the right. It's your fairly typical blockbuster movie poster, so it's not too spectacular, but it also isn't too overbearing.
It's nice to have Robert Downey Jr. back as the wisecracking technical wizard Tony Stark. However, other than a few jokes and lots of explosions, there isn't very much of substance to this trailer. However, at least Mickey Rourke looks entertaining.
The first time you see a trailer for a sequel to a film you enjoyed some anticipation is expected, but when you see that the adrenaline from the first film is excessively increased in the second, those anticipatory feelings are expunged.
The first film wasn't much of a contender, but this one lives or dies based on the end results. It could be a Visual Effects contender, or it could pale in comparison to other films of the year much like most vfx heavy sequels in recent memory.
I have not seen this film.
