Preview: Jonah Hex (2010)

Synopsis:

After being hassled and burned by a man who took everything away from him, the government asks this Old West bounty hunter to track down his enemy and kill him...for them.

Review:

Notice how they have cleverly hidden Jonah's hideous face burn in the poster. They want to hopefully draw in women with this poster, but the overall look tries to appeal to fanboys. You can't have it both ways.

• Trailer: C-

Review:

Although the comic book may have employed the facial burn as a key element to the plot, it's utterly distracting here. Not only does it not look authentic, it's the only thing I can see in most shots, which does not help with such a dull and unoriginal plot.

Oscar Prospects:

Maybe Art Direction or Costume Design, but I wouldn't even count on those.
