A remake of the acclaimed Swedish horror film Let the Right One In about a strange child who drinks the blood of the living.
The first poster, though richly detailed in its minimalist approach, lacks any real idea of what the film stands for. It merely suggests a bloody film with a female protagonist.
While the second poster doesn't give any concept of the film's subject, it's a devilishly clever image that uses the winter setting of the film and the snow angels made within it as a suggestive jumping point for a slight trail of blood.
Today's two posters are merely re-designs of the posters revealed previously. This first one fails to live up to the merits of the original and simply goes a bit overboard.
The second poster also fails to live up to its forebear, adding too much brightness to a poster that was full of rich contrast.
There were so many things I worried about in an American retelling of the terrific film Let the Right One In and this trailer hits nearly every one of those problems from too many shot-for-shot selections, to poor performances and a general lack of respect for the original.
None.
I have not seen this film.
