Preview: Nanny McPhee Returns (2010)

Review:

It almost seems like a place-filler. And the obvious comparison to Mary Poppins is unfortunate, but other than fans of the original, this poster isn't going to make friends.

And here we have the Nanny herself, wart and all with a lame tagline of "who's your nanny?". I think they had to add the cute pig to make it seem less frightening.

Review:

Obviously aimed at children, there's a stereotypical stream of thought being displayed in the film. It's like many other such animated and live-action features and makes me question why someone as talented as Emma Thompson who wrote Sense and Sensibility would be focusing on such minimal fare.

Oscar Prospects:

The first wasn't a consideration, nor will the second be.
