A live action rendition of the Tchaikovsky classic The Nutcracker.
It's a richly detailed poster that doesn't overstay its visual welcome, delighting the eyes with its simplicity and elegance. A few minor quibbles about the images in the corners, but not many.
It is clear from the outset that this film is targeted squarely at children and because of that, most of the trailer succeeds. It's not a very compelling narrative and a good deal of the plot is revealed in the trailer, but it should appeal to the demographic it most desires.
It's a bit too childish for the Oscars in most categories, but Art Direction and Costume Design could be key contenders in a film not many of us had seen coming.
I have not seen this film.
