Set in 1957, The Perfect Game tells the story of the humble beginnings of the first non-U.S. team to win the Little League World Series.
It feels like a carbon copy of every period-based sports movie ever made.
There aren't any major stars in the film, which may very well be to its benefit. The story seems uplifting, but the way it plays out in the trailer suggests a movie that doesn't know how to break free of its mold.
