Preview: Piranha 3D (2010)

Synopsis:

A subterranean crevice opens under Lake Victoria releasing a torrent of dangerous, murderous prehistoric piranha.

Review:

As unnecessary and idiotic as the trailers, this poster almost looks like an image of a tyrannosaurus mouth. And the tagline is entirely ludicrous.

How much can this film steal from Jaws? I get that both films deal with underwater menaces, but must we have a poster so similar to the famed one used for that Steven Spielberg classic?

Review:

About as dumb as you could imagine. The blatant 3D shots and gimmicky Jaws-inspired elements are about as interesting as wet toilet paper.

If a second trailer could be any worse than the original, this would be it. Even more blatant 3D whoring on display and a serious lack of credible or exciting plot.
