Based on the true story of the overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawai'i and the young princess who stands up against the U.S. government who perpetrated the overthrow.
The colors are nice, though Q'Orianka Kilcher's facial expression is a bit too vacant. The lower image fits the theme, but is a bit trite, as is the three-headed upper half.
Any film that portrays the overthrow of a peaceful nation by a corrupt government, even the United States, deserves some measure of consideration. This does, however, look unfortunately like so many other similarly-themed films.
A May release is not a recipe for Oscar success. It looks like a baity movie, but probably won't get much consideration.
I have not seen this film.
