Review:

The 3D Motion poster displayed over at IMP Awards is a rather interesting design. The various lumps on the eye gives a new meaning to the word eye popping. It continues with the same light cream color background, but that's the only continued element from past posters.

The only reason it's inferior to the previous is that when looked at in 3D (you can find that image at the IMP Awards site as well as the prior 3D poster), it has a few proportion issues. Still, it's better than a lot of what else is out there.

The latest 3D motion poster, check it out on the IMP Awards website, is a twist on the others, switching from white-themed to black-themed. It's a nice change of pace and the image is more believable in 3D, but I still like the old fashion 2D posters.

I like the "constructing Jigsaw" theme of the poster. In 3D (available at impawards.com), it looks pretty cool as well.

Inventive is not the word to describe this poster. And considering the film series is predicated on originality of design and execution, this poster is even more disappointing.

Review:

It's a teaser for sure, but it's still not a very strong one. They play heavily on the 3D element in the trailer even though most audiences can probably guess, but I expect little more than further pointless gimmicks. Let's just hope the traps aren't equally pointless.

Relying heavily on an outdated gimmick to sell a movie employing outdated gimmicks and you have a dismal trailer that isn't about to entice anyone of any real merit into the theater.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
