Black-and-white can, when used correctly, convey great dramatic content. Here it is used to great effect, highlighting the fear and desperation the film intends to capture. It's detriment is the unnecessary use of red.
An interesting concept that may lead to intriguing results. Featuring actors who aren't necessarily well known helps add some depth to the film that would be more about the story and performance than about the performer.
