Preview: Somewhere (2010)

Synopsis:

A bad boy actor is caught by surprise when his 11-year-old daughter arrives to stay with him in L.A. forcing him to re-evaluate his party lifestyle.

Review:

Single scene posters lack originality in my opinion. Seldom do they truly capture the essence of the film they represent. When that happens, they work well. Here, it doesn't.

• Trailer: B+

Review:

It would be nice to see the underrated Stephen Dorff finally make some waves on the big screen again. Alongside the immensely talented Elle Fanning and the watchful eye of Sofia Coppola, we could see a rebirth. And the film doesn't look that bad either.

Oscar Prospects:

It's a Focus Features production directed by an Ocsar-winning writer and director, there is very likely to be a push while I'd be surprised to see Dorff as a nominee, Fanning could finally get some recognition.
