Preview: Splice (2010)

Synopsis:

Two geneticists sidestep the laws regarding human cloning, but creating an articial life that won't remain entirely within of their control.

Review:

A look at the child takes away a significant portion of the film's "mystique", but since the trailer does the same thing, I'm not at all surprised. The attempts to make the child human-looking while different feels entirely forced.

Review:

What truly frightens audiences is reality encroaching upon horror. Here, the makers seem to be aiming for that simple goal, but overshooting by sensationalizing their concept and preying on the fears of their audience without really understanding what they are doing.

Even with more details emerging about the film, it does not look nearly as interesting as the makers hope it will. I sense a potential bomb.
