POSTERS

Preview: Survival of the Dead (2010)

Synopsis:

George A. Romero continues his zombie franchise with this film about families hoping to find a cure that will revert their loved ones back to human.

  • Poster: B

Review:

It definitely captures the essence of the zombie genre. It's not a great poster and it's not that inventive, but it should be sufficient for targeting the audience it most desires.

  • Trailer: C; C+

Review:

What is ostensibly a clip from the film, this trailer doesn't really share why the film should be so vitally important to audiences. Although those who are already sold on the series won't have much of a problem picking up tickets for this. The only thing that might is that this doesn't look like your typical zombie flick, focusing on the family and loved ones of the undead to act as the plot.

I inadvertently reviewed the clip for this film instead of an actual trailer (as you note my early reference as the trailer being "ostensibly a clip"). Now, we have an actual trailer to look at, but it must be paired with watching the clip, otherwise it won't be nearly as interesting. We get a better idea of the film's plot, but we're presented with far too many scenes from the film as the trailer feels like it goes on far longer than necessary.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
