A glimpse into the private life of Benito Mussolini, his love affairs and his rise to power.
It has a graceful, old-world quality. It's not too showy or exaggerated and the colors are warm and involving. The small, city in the background adds a nice touch.
What is most intriguing about this old fashioned trailer is that it tells us, all too explicitly, that Mussolini's romantic affair was a metaphor and prelude to his rise to power. It's an interesting concept, one a lot of American filmmakers aren't latching onto.
It was not submitted by Italy for consideration for the Ocsars, so, with a U.S. release this year, and a healthy push, it could be an Oscar contender.
I have not seen this film.
