A documentary about the sorry state of the American education system.
Newton Minnow coined the phrase "vast wasteland" when referencing the lackluster offerings presented on television, but this poster seems to epitomize that conceit and is rightfully pointed towards the education system where education itself has become a vast wasteland of underachievement and failure.
It's a vital topic in today's fast-paced and education-driven job market, yet our underfunded and underqualified education system does not seem to be focusing enough on standards and making sure students reach those standards and instead attempts to churn childen out quickly and move forward. This documentary may well shine a light on several aspects of modern education that invariably deserve improvement.
A nomination for the Oscar would not be surprising.
I have not seen this film.
