A woman masquerading as a man in order to find work in 19th century Ireland, must struggle to retain her identity while carve out a small place in the male-dominated world.
Simple like its lead character the poster isn't original and it isn't inventive, but it's effective regardless.
The film seems to be a fairly generic one albeit with what looks to be a strong central performance from Glenn Close. The film could be intriguing if nothing else.
Glenn Close has been the subject of Oscar nomination talk for some time now and I don't see any reason why she wouldn't continue on her way to a Best Actress nomination. The film itself, however, will have to satisfy itself with potential nominations in Art Direction, Costume Design and Makeup.
I have not seen this film.
