Review:

The biggest problem with this poster is that it's too simple. Based on a fairly tale, any number of modern fairy tale elements would have made for a stronger work. However, the result isn't too bad and does capitalize on the attractive-gone-ugly makeup work even if it isn't exceptional work.

Review:

What we see in the trailer is not terribly enticing. The story's not nearly as fleshed out as the synopsis indicates and the fact that two of the stars are Vanessa Hudgens and Mary-Kate Olsen, it should come as no surprise that the film is bound to be terrible, thus it's late-July release date.

More detailed information about the film does firm up my thoughts about it. This is a modern Beauty and the Beast rip-off that doesn't have the grace or depth of the Ron Perlman-Linda Hamilton series of the late '80s.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
