A collection of archived interviews and footage for a Scandinavian documentary about the Black Power movement of the '60s and '70s has been cobbled with other period footage to create a documentary about the Black Panthers and black rights in the United States.
Stock footage adapted to poster size doesn't always work very well, but those who recognize the image may be compelled to give the film a look.
I'm not the biggest fan of documentaries, but this one looks particularly compelling. While it's not going to appeal to many non-film lovers, that group alone should be sufficient for their aims.
I hadn't thought about this film being a competitor, but seeing this trailer gives me the idea that it could be an easy nominee, though a win may not be in the cards.
I have not seen this film.
