A documentary examining the life and work (as the title says) of legendary cinematographer Jack Cardiff.
It has a '60s style that appeals to me. The black-and-white with the dollop of color is almost antithetical to Cardiff's work who has been called one of the great color cinematographers, which makes it more interesting.
As a comment on the poster states, this is a film that every cineaste should check out. Even if there weren't some prominent names attached as interviewees, to learn something about a famed cinematgrapher like Cardiff should be worth the effort.
Unless the Academy continues to ignore docs about its own industry, this should be a shoo-in for an Oscar nomination, though a win depends on which political doc du jour is in competition.
I have not seen this film.
