Preview: Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)

Synopsis:

Looking at the fourth and final Avenger of the franchise, this is the film looking at the literal first: Captain America.

Review:

Sure it's only a teaser trailer, but for fans of the comics, this should do nicely pulling them to the theaters. And since they are one of the big reasons all of these Marvel films are doing so well, I can't say it's a bad decision.

Review:

Seeing Chris Evans short and scrawny is a bit disconcerting, but it works well to establish the character. Although the trailer doesn't do a lot to tell us where the film is going, it is sufficiently action-oriented for the target audience who aren't likely to expect much more.

Oscar Prospects:

Who can really tell with Marvel films. Some do quite well, others tank. I expect a few below the line technical nominations to be in play.
