A documentary following the lives of a family-owned circus in Mexico and their struggles to survive financial and interpersonal ruin.
The excessive space above the tent feels too broad. It may be filled with text, but it is just that: filler. There's nothing of importance that would appeal to very many people.
It looks like it might be a compelling and fascinating documentary exploring the circus culture blended with a family relationship saga. It tries too hard in a number of frames to convey the disconnect between normalcy and irregularity, which only manages to make it look a tad forced.
Despite having the potential for high drama, the Academy isn't likely to favor this.
I have not seen this film.
