It isn't far removed from the all-star spectacles of the '70s, which gives it a certain intrigue factor among those who enjoyed the disaster flicks of those periods.
Matt Damon may deliver one of his worst performances to date in this film. He looks like he's trying way too hard. Some elements of the film look fascinating, especially if it goes into a socio-political commentary on big businesses, the pharmaceutical industry and cover-ups, but some segments of the trailer make it look like it's going to appeal to strongly to a mass audience, which means it may be dumbed down a bit.
The names in the cast are enough to consider it an Oscar contender, but a September release is probably going to keep it from really seizing any momentum that strong critic or audience notices might provide.
I have not seen this film.
