Preview: Dream House (2011)

Synopsis:

A couple moves into a new house only to discover a haunting history of family slaughter. The problem is one of the new tenants may have been responsible for the original killings.

Review:

Even though it reminds me heavily of a scene from Stanley Kubrick's The Shining, there's no denying that the phantasmal blend between dress and wallpaper is a chilling effect that serves the poster well.

• Trailer: B

Review:

The trailer leaves a bit to be desired. Attempting to be mysterious for a pseudo-horror film does work well as an advertising tool, but the result feels a tad unoriginal. And I doubt such a talented cast would sign onto a really bad film. Then again, it's happened before.
