A troubled young man moves to a small country town where dancing has been banned, but when he fancies the preacher's daughter, trouble is just around the corner.
Too much open space and a tagline that's little more than vacuous. If you cut off the top half of the poster, it wouldn't be so bad.
Having never gotten a chance to see the original, I can't say how close the two films are, but this looks painfully old fashioned mixed with some potentially nice dance sequences.
With the film's second trailer, the attempted nostalgia is amped up, hoping to draw in those early fans of the Kevin Bacon pop culture classic; however, as the trailer plays out, exposing most of its more cliched and predictable elements, you get the sense that it's more about making money than it is about celebrating a fan favorite.
None.
I have not seen this film.
