A forensic archivist sifts through massive stacks of records to search for a way to bring down a ruthless dictator or two. This documentary shifts to different regions around the world and speaks with various freedom fighters as they struggle to rid their countries of dangerous influences.
The blurry central image is more of a distraction than an attention-getter. The film stock footage on the left balances the blurriness, but it doesn't give the viewer enough information to care.
A tedious trailer attempts to over explain the purpose of the documentary, creating a preview that will drive more people away than it will entice.
The subject matter might be worth Oscar consideration, but if the doc is as dull as this dishwater of a trailer, then it doesn't have a chance.
I have not seen this film.
