A young political aide attempts to protect the idealistic presidential candidate he works for by getting exposed to the dirty politics that make Washington run.
While I'm sure there's a good deal of airbrushing here, it's nevertheless a neat effect. Ryan Gosling looks just enough like George Clooney that combining half a face of each works tremendously well.
Clooney as a director gives me hope, though the trailer is fairly unexceptional. The promise of a good political drama is high and that cast just looks amazing.
This is one of the year's early Oscar contenders and, if it is as good as Clooney's previous effort Good Night, and Good Luck. We could have a lot of competition in major categorie sincluding Picture, Director, Acting (Gosling and Clooney at a minimum), Original Screenplay and more depending on just how good it is.
I have not seen this film.
