Preview: Ironclad (2011)

Synopsis:

A small group of Knights Templar hold out against a corrupt king as he attempts to take ownership of their castle.

Review:

Lords of the Rings this is not, though they do seem to be going for that type of feel. And even if Rings isn't their target, the myriad other medieval adventures and war films have tended to favor just this type of poster which makes for a rather unenthusiastic result.

• Trailer: C-

Review:

There is much scenery to be chewed in this trailer as Paul Gimatti hams it up the likes of which we haven't seen since Geoffrey Rush took most of his post Shine film roles.

Oscar Prospects:

I have significant doubts that this film will even succeed at the box office, so Oscar seems out of the question.
