A vicious rumor surrounding the death of her younger sister leads a young girl on a trek to find her mother who fled the superstition.
It's not a poster you go right out and buy. It's humble, guileless and subtly designed. It wouldn't be my first idea for a design of a poster, but it works for what it is.
The trailer isn't very perceptive of its audience. While the plaudits of a handful of film critics might pursuade some, the preview is slow moving and unfamiliar.
It was submitted, but not nominated, for the Academy Award for Foreign Language Film. It was even one of the 9 finalists from which the final five nominees was selected. That makes it eligible for the 84th Oscars. However, few foreign language films managed to earn nominations after being ignored in the Foreign Language category.
I have not seen this film.
