A documentary from acclaimed filmmaker Alex Gibney (along with co-director Alison Ellwood) exploring the lost footage and archival material of the 1964 cross-country bus trip taking Ken Keasy, Neal Cassidy, Jerry Garcia and The Merry Pranksters on an exploration of America.
Sure the poster encapsulates the design style of the 1960s, but the richness of detail that characterized a lot of that old art doesn't seem as impressive.
It could be an interesting study and foundation of the post-Kerouac, 1960s Peace and Love period.
Never count Gibney out as a Documentary Feature contender. The problem is that the film isn't nearly as political as a lot of films that earn nominations these days.
I have not seen this film.
