Three families make their way across the unfriendly west as they seek new life and new opportunities.
Considering the setting of the film, this is a successful attempt to create an olden-days feel. It employees a similar artistic style and paired with the limited color scheme, it could almost have been made over a century ago.
The trailer is far too uneventful to appeal to a wide swath of audiences. It's also fairly uneven never giving us reason why we should want to care about these characters.
It was a festival hit, but I don't think it will end up at the Oscars.
I have not seen this film.
