A teenager struggles to find herself in the midst of family pressure to conform; however, when she falls in love with a girlfriend, her life and family begin to unravel.
It's not a color scheme I often see and I give it a lot of credit for that; however, the content isn't very compelling and certainly isn't going to be enough to pull in the audience needed for it to be a hit.
There aren't a lot of dramatic films that focus on the struggles of black teenagers and their sexuality and this one seems like a strong entry into the conversation.
With the right level of focus, it could have been a contender, but as it stands, it's likely just going to be a distant memory.
I have not seen this film.
