Preview: Scream (2011)

Synopsis:

As the tagline says "New Decade, New Rules" as the fourth film in the popular Scream franchise gives us new rules to live by updated to modern horror memes.

Review:

The original poster, which I had initially considered merely a teaser poster appears to be in fairly prominent use. It's rather simple and should convey to the audience the familiarity needed to draw an audience. It' snot terribly creative, but when you're selling a franchise, that's not necessarily important.

The second poster is a bit more creative, using a ghost-like numeral four to house a semi-frigthened image. It's not a particularly effective use of space, but gets bonus points for an attempt at creativity.

Review:

It's a somewhat generic trailer and the humor isn't terribly great, but you know what you're going to get from the opening scene and there's nothing to dissuade the rabid fanbase of the franchise from turning out for this installment.
