Preview: The Thing (2011)

Synopsis:

A remake of John Carpenter's classic creature horror feature brings a team of scientists to Antarctica where a strange, frozen discovery threatens to devour them all.

Review:

I like that the poster is so simplistic. It doesn't try to be more than it could have been (a failing of a number of genre pictures), but it's perhaps a little too minimalist for its own good.

• Trailer: B

Review:

Keeping the creature under wraps and in disguise, even though you know that it is a chameleon of sorts, adds some suspense to the trailer that should draw in a few more viewers than the curious fans of the original.
