Preview: Win Win (2011)

Synopsis:

A disillusioned lawyer who coaches High School wrestling in his spare times finds the potential to escape his dreary frustrations when he stumbles upon a troubled young athlete whose wrestling skills could save their struggling program.

Review:

One of the most frustrating aspects of poster grading is when it is quite obviously filmed in a studio against green screen and modify to poster format. This poster is obviously faked in some ways and without a strong personality of its own, it's rather negligible.

• Trailer: C+

Review:

It doesn't look like a great film, nor does it look like an absolute bore. Director Tom McCarthy's two prior films, The Visitor and The Station Agent are good, if not excellent films, so it's hard to believe a film that appears this limited actually is.

Oscar Prospects:

McCarthy's two prior films were either Oscar competitors or nominees and while this doesn't look like it would follow The Visitor's track to an Oscar nomination, it might be a contender if the precursors give it any attention.
