Preview: Winter in Wartime (2011)

Synopsis:

In the winter of 1945, an American bomber crash lands and is cared for by the local mayor's son, but The Netherlands is currently under Nazi control and the boy must keep him secret or risk both of their lives.

Review:

Cast in colors similar to those used in the film, the poster sufficiently explains an aspect of the film, fear of detection, that helps classify some elements without giving away too much information.

• Trailer: B-

Review:

The trailer lacks a strong difference between it and other films. The trailer doesn't do justice to the potential dramatic effects of the theme, though it does set the tone. In addition, the gorgeous cinematography makes it a potentially engaging film to watch.

Oscar Prospects:

The official submission from Netherlands to the Oscars did not get nominated, therefore it is eligible this year. However, I don't see a film releasing in March as a likely Oscar contender when it won't perform that well at the box office.
