Several trained killers attempt to top each other to claim a prize fit for a king: a kingdom.
It's an elegant design for an inelegant concept. While it fits the tone of the film, I can't see it as overly exciting.
The perpetual fascination with martial arts films made in stylish ways has eclipsed its usefulness. Zhang Yimou made them classy. Quentin Tarantino's made them trashy.
