Sean Penn takes on his most bizarre role yet. Attempting to channel a more sedate version of Ozzy Osbourne (is that possible?), Penn conveys a sense of world weary sadness in the trailer, which might be just enough to bring his fans to the theater, but the story seems a bit off-kilter to appeal to many others.
There may be some talk of an Oscar nomination for Penn, but his performance looks a bit too subdued for Academy interests.
