Review: (#1) One of these things is out of place and it might just be the horses, though an argument could be made for the actors. This poster design is lifeless considering how many living creatures are on display. It’s simple and almost boring.

(#2) Featuring a nice landscape, this poster has a lot of depth and detail without being overbearing. Though, the added fire element at the bottom left is unnecessary. (#3) I get selling Chris Hemsworth is an advisable way to also sell your movie, but the background details are ill-fitting and look tacked on. (#4-#7) These character posters are colorless, dull, and not particularly interesting.

Trailer Rating: C- / C

Review: (#1) The trailer goes a long way towards diminishing the concept of the title, namely the “horse soldiers” idea. It references it, but never makes it feel impactful, instead making this seem like a heroic story about soldiers going off to protect America from further 9/11’s. That kind of promotion seems a bit crass still.

(#2) Approaching this story from a different angle, making it seem more action-heavy than previous, but also trying to focus in on more of the characters than before, but only superficially so.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
