Review: (#1) That expanse of black, although it properly blocks all but the silhouetted figures, feels as artificial as it looks cheap.

(#2) Color symbolism is an important part of poster design; however, over-reliance on color symbolism without a thematic and artistic balance behind it means nothing, which is the biggest problem with this design. (#3) Getting your audience to understand your film in a single image is a daunting task and some poster designers think putting images together will accomplish that. It can, but it also looks uninspired as a result.

Trailer Rating: C+

Review: What one wouldn’t give to watch Argo again after this. This far more serious take on a hostage crisis puts solid actors into a story that looks paint-by-numbers.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
