Synopsis:

From IMDb: “After spending two decades in England, Bill Bryson returns to the U.S., where he decides the best way to connect with his homeland is to hike the Appalachian Trail with one of his oldest friends.”

Poster Rating: D+

Review: Thematically fitting, but visually dull, this poster doesn’t do enough to sell audiences on the film’s stars or its premise. It seems to only want to focus on hikers who might have familiarity with the backdrop if they even cared to give it a second look.

Trailer Rating: B-

Review: Nick Nolte and Robert Redford don’t look half bad in the film, but the clunky dialogue and contrived setting won’t help the film find a very solid audience even if its more contemplative than it lets on.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
